THE HEALING HYMN 
 
A transfusion of blue eyes
Hiding behind a body that betrays
I look for you there 
But you are hidden in the mystery.
Strong hands and strong heart 
Weaker now
Strong legs and strong purpose
Weaker now too
Together, we muddle through this God damn thing!
Making sense of the senseless
Making calm of the shock
Making stories that we cannot understand
Making smiles that mask our fear.
I will not let go
And I let it all go
I embrace as I release
A twister passes over me
And in its destruction,
I lie calm in you.
For we will laugh again
And write again
And drink again
And create again
And love and love and love….
 And, if we do not
It maters not
Because time is the great liar
Then is now and now is then
Our happily ever after already was, 
And is yet to come
I wipe away my tears,
And they are yours
And they fade to a stare 
And then a hint of a smile
A healing is called for here
I call upon the maker,
